Sarah Okun, LSCSW

Sarah is an experienced psychotherapist and business professional with a diverse background in mental health, trauma treatment, and organizational leadership. She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) with a focus on Clinical Social Work, along with an MBA in Finance, giving her a unique combination of trauma-informed clinical skills and strategic business insight. Sarah’s career began in the finance industry, where she spent over 15 years climbing the corporate ladder, overseeing key performance indicators and financial reporting in the C-suite. After years of focusing on numbers, she felt drawn to a more people-centered path. Seeking greater personal fulfillment, she pivoted to the mental health field, earning her second Masters degree in social work and pursuing clinical licensure.

Sarah’s clinical journey began in an adolescent residential psychiatric treatment center, where she provided psychotherapy and gained valuable experience in crisis intervention and mental health assessments. During this time, she recognized the profound impact healthy, supportive relationships have on a child’s healing process. In her private practice, Sarah refined her clinical skills using interventions that build resiliency within the nervous system and help address the lasting effects of untreated complex childhood trauma. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicide (CAMS), Polyvagal Safe and Connected Protocol, and is trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Sarah finds balance and inspiration in the great outdoors—whether camping, exploring new landscapes, or simply connecting with nature. She is deeply passionate about the mind-body connection, continually expanding her knowledge through reading, hands-on training, and personal practice. These pursuits not only keep her grounded and energized but also fuel her dedication to personal growth and her work with others.
